JSU Music Professor Dr. Jeryl Davis Dies

Dr. William Jerryl Davis, 60, of Jacksonville, Ala., died at 6:22 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following a brief illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Hopkinsville, Kentucky with the Rev. Dr. Howard H. Willen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, he was born September 15, 1945, the son of the late Harold Douglas Davis and Clina Mae (Henderson) Davis. He was a teacher of 30 years in the music department at Jacksonville State University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hopkinsville. He was a member of Phi Mu Alpha, The International Double Reed Society, and was the organist at Grace Episcopal Church, Anniston, Ala. He is survived by his twin brother, Douglas Darryl Davis, Hopkinsville, Ky.
