English Dept. Lecture Series:
Enhancing Communication Skills for ESL Students

The English Department Lecture Series presents, "How Small Groups Can Help ESL Students Develop Communication Skills," a presentation by Linda Yost, instructor of English at JSU. The focus of this presentation is to provide educators with strategies for helping students whose first language is not English communicate more effectively and confidently.

Ms. Yost teaches basic English skills and early American literature at JSU. Ms. Yost has also taught technical and business writing courses and Freshman composition at Purdue University and the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County. Her specialty is teaching English as a second language composition, and she spent two years teaching writing at the American University in Cairo. Ms. Yost holds a B.A. from Alderson-Broaddus College (1983) and M.A. (1985) from West Virginia University.

The lecture will begin at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, 5 April, and will be held in Room 230 of Stone Center. This event is free and open to the public.
