WISE Seeks Help with Clothesline Project

WISE (Women's Issues Support and Empowerment) is now taking donations for used or new t-shirts and/or fabric paint for the upcoming clothesline project. The Clothesline Project (CLP) is a program to address the issue of violence against women. It is a vehicle for women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt. They then hang the shirt on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to the problem of violence against women.

The group is holding t-shirt decorating gatherings every Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in Brewer Hall, Room 329. The first meeting commences on Wednesday, February 22. Come make t-shirts and donate supplies. Look for drop off boxes on the third floor of Brewer Hall.

For more information contact Tina Deshotels at ext. 5350 or send e-mail to tdeshotels@jsu.edu. Ms. Deshotels is the faculty advisor of WISE.
