Jacksonville State Seeks More Textbooks for Iraq College

Al Hamdani, an Iraqi-born biology professor at Jacksonville State University, has launched a second drive to collect textbooks for library shelves at his alma mater, Baghdad University. The effort comes on the heels of a 2004 Books for Baghdad drive that saw 11,000 texts and $6,500 in school supplies from donors across the United States shipped in April to the sprawling institution in Iraq’s capital.
