Phi Eta Sigma Inducts 65

7 April 2005 — Phi Eta Sigma, the national freshman honor society with a chapter at Jacksonville State University, held its formal induction ceremony recently on campus. 

Rebekah Elizabeth McManus of Woodland was awarded the Scholarly Achievement Award, which is given to a previous year's inductee still in school. Ms. McManus holds a perfect 4.0 grade point average. She received a $200 cash award.

It was announced that JSU student Cristina Almanza of Mexico won a $1,000 Phi Eta Sigma scholarship award.

On the national level, Mr. Rufus D. Kinney, JSU adviser to Phi Eta Sigma, was presented the Distinguished Service Award for his work with the organization.
