Donnie Wells Named Program Director of WLJS

Jacksonville State University's communication board has named Donnie Wells as the student program director for campus radio station WLJS, 92J.

The station provides hands-on experience for students who are seeking careers in broadcasting. Wells was selected based on his experience and skills after a competitive interview process.

A Fort Payne native, Wells is a rising senior majoring in history and minoring in political science. He has served as the music director for WLJS and is currently a member of the JSU History Club. Wells is also a member of JSU's show choir, Encore, and a member of the JSU Jazz Ensemble.

"I have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time," he said.

In addition to local programming, the station provides JSU and surrounding communities with National Public Radio programming, news, music, public affairs, sports programming and information about campus activities. Mr. Wells assumed the responsibilities and duties of the position on May 2.
