David Howell Named Staff Writer,
Sound Editor



David Howell

David Howell has joined the Jacksonville State University News Bureau as a student staff writer and sound editor. Mr. Howell was selected based on his experience and skills after a competitive interview process.

In addition to writing, Howell will be producing President Bill Meehan's daily public service radio program.

A native of Bristol, Virginia, Howell is a senior majoring in communication. He is also a member of the JSU Writers' Club, an instructor of Aikido, and a founding member of the JSU Yudo Club.

Mr. Howell served as associate editor of the McClellan News and editor of the Fort Bliss Monitor.

"The JSU New Bureau is the voice of the campus community. The mission is to connect with students, faculty, staff and family members and let them know what's happening in our community." said Howell. "I'm honored to be a part of that tradition of excellence."

Howell's future plans include completing a training manual for teachers on how to deal with violence in the classroom. He plans to  continue his education at JSU by pursuing a master's degree.
