JSU Drama Presents Heroes May 19-22

JSU Drama presents the premier performance of Heroes, by David Muschell, winner of 2004's Southern Playwright's Competition. In late October 2001, Billy Mazzolli arrives at a small fire station in Tennessee. He tells the firefighters that he was a firefighter in New York and that he had become overwhelmed by the September events. Everyone takes him in and begins treating him as a hero--everyone, that is, but Paul who becomes suspicious.

Heroes is based on a true story. It highlights our tendency to trust those who claim to be like us just about as easily as we distrust those we think to be different.

The production runs at the Mainstage, Ernest Stone Performing Arts Center, May 19, 20, and 21 at 7 p.m. and May 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for JSU personnel and senior citizens, and $4 for students and military. Call 256-782-5648 for reservations.
