JSU Presents Four Special Awards

Four Jacksonville State University students recently received the following special awards:

  • DR. CLARENCE WILLIAM DAUGETTE AWARD, for the male graduate with the highest grade point average, was presented to Michael Lee Neal of Hokes Bluff, a math major. He received a silver tray.

  • MARY C. FORNEY AWARD, for the most outstanding female graduate in education, was presented to Stephanie Steward of Piedmont, an elementary education major. She received a silver tray.

  • ANNIE FORNEY DAUGETTE AWARD, for the female graduate with the highest grade point average in art, was presented to Cristina M. Almanza Muro of Mexico, an art major. She received a silver tray.

  • GENERAL JOHN H. FORNEY AWARD, for the student commissioned into the United States Army with the highest grade point average, was presented to James Lawthorn Jr. of North Vandergrift, Pa. He received a silver pitcher and two water goblets.
