Rodney Bailey Receives SCGC Lifetime Achievement Award for 2005

Each year the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit awards their prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to an individual who has contributed the most to the advancement of the pageantry arts over a period of several consecutive years. Mr. Rodney Bailey, JSU Admissions Counselor, and Director of the JSU Center Stage Winter Guard is the 2005 recipient of this award.

Mr. Bailey started his instructional career in 1989 at the high school level. Since then, he has instructed over 40 high school, collegiate and independent color guards throughout the southeast.

In the winter of 1998 Mr. Bailey founded the JSU Center Stage Winter Guard in order to increase the talent level of the JSU Color Guard. Within one year, the talent in the JSU color guard grew and the talent level skyrocketed. The JSU Center Stage winter guard has won numerous championships on a local and national level. Each year, the program grows in size and success, attracting students from all over the country to JSU.

In 2002 Mr. Bailey was named to the Southeastern color guard circuit Executive Board and in 2004, was named President of the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit. This year alone, Mr. Bailey has consulted/designed 11 high school winter guard programs and 2 collegiate programs throughout the southeast.
