Dr. James Fairleigh Suffers Fatal Heart Attack While Playing for Morning Church Service

21 February 2005 — Former Department Head of the JSU Music Department Dr. James Fairleigh died Sunday, February 20, of a massive coronary. Dr. Fairleigh had been stricken with the heart attack while playing for the morning service at an Episcopal church in the South Carolina area near his residence.

Dr. Fairleigh oversaw the Music Department's growth for over 20 years and a memorial service is planned. Details of this service will be provided when available.
