Workshop: Starting and Managing An Effective Small Business

May 20, 2004 -- The Jacksonville State University Small Business Development Center will present a workshop entitled "Starting and Managing An Effective Small Business" from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9 at the Best Western Hotel and Conference Center in Oxford at the intersection of U.S. Highways 21 and 78.

The workshop is for prospective and existing small business owners. Topics to be addressed include financing options available through local lenders, financial assistance programs from the United States Small Business Administration (SBA), recordkeeping and tax considerations, and the importance and availability of small business insurance coverage. Speakers will address specific concerns regarding each of the above topics as they relate to the small business environment.

Co-sponsors for this event are the Jacksonville State Center for Economic Development and the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce.

Registration fee for this workshop is $10 which includes all workshop materials and a luncheon. Seating for this workshop is limited, and advance registration is required.
