SBDC to Host Free Business Management Workshop

May 14, 2004 A free Jacksonville State University workshop, "Business Management for Veterans and Other Entrepreneurs," will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, in Room 202 of the Joe Ford Center for Economic Development on the Gadsden State Community College campus.

The workshop, sponsored by the Jacksonville State University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Northeast Alabama Chapter Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), will address business taxation and other managerial issues that entrepreneurs face in the daily operation of their businesses. Opportunities will also exist to learn more about federal government programs that assist entrepreneurs as well as governmental contracting. Presenters from the US Small Business Administration, Anniston Army Depot, Internal Revenue Service, and Alabama Department of Revenue offer expertise in these areas.

Don't miss the opportunity to discuss managerial issues and to network with these professionals. The workshop is offered free to the public. Space is limited. Please make plans now to attend.

The SBDC is partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration. SBA's funding is not an endorsement of any products, opinions, or services. SBA funded programs are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis. SBDC programs are nondiscriminatory and available to individuals with disabilities.

The Joe Ford Center for Economic Development is located at 405 Korner Street in Gadsden -- turn right off of I-759 onto George Wallace Drive, then left onto Korner Street. For more information call the JSU SBDC at 256-782-5271.
