JSU Music Student to Perform at National Conference

April 6, 2004 -- Judy Holt of Jacksonville, a third-year voice student at Jacksonville State University, has been selected along with 29 other students from across the country to participate in a stage performance workshop in conjunction with the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) national convention in Minneapolis, MN, April 14-18.

Judy's name was submitted by her instructor, Dr. Larry Hardin, who is the faculty sponsor of JSU's Collegiate Chapter of MENC.

Judy was chosen out of hundreds of applicants to attend the four-day event. The April workshop in which she will be participating is staffed with a roster of clinicians and luminaries who will be teaching and sharing their insights on voice technique and live performance.

Judy will perform for her colleagues and attend several workshops. A highlight of the weekend will be a special concert and workshop by, among others, Broadway great Jerry Herman, composer of such classic productions as "Hello, Dolly" and "Mame."
