JSU Field School presents Beginning Bird Identification




May 12, 2003 -- The Little River Canyon Field School will offer a "bird identification" driving tour through the Talladega National Forest on May 24.

Participants will stop at birding "hot spots" in the forest and learn to identify birds by their songs, calls, and by sight.

Don't miss this chance to view the unique birds of the Shoal Creek Ranger District including the endangered Red-cockaded Woodpecker and the Red Crossbill. Spotting scopes and binoculars will be provided. This program will train you to be an American Birding Association volunteer and assist the US Forest Service in bird research. Pre-registration is required.
