JSU's Taste of the Town Summer Series Offers Dinner Theatre in July |

JSU's Taste of the Town Summer Series returns in its fifteenth season with
two great dinner theatre shows and one delightful children's show. THE FOURPOSTER, by Jan deHartog, features the JSU husband and wife team of Randy and Denise Davis and is an old-fashioned romantic comedy. It runs July 3-6 and 10-12. The play chronicles a husband and wife from their wedding night in 1890 until they pack and move 35 years later. Denise and Randy Davis both of Jacksonville will be portraying the couple. ABSURD PERSON SINGULAR, by Alan Ayckbourn, is a comic-farce featuring three couples on three Christmases in a different kitchen each year. It runs July 17-20 and 24-26. This is the story of three couples at differing levels of prosperity. Follow the rise of one couple to material prosperity and independence and the decline of the other two couples. Taylor Hyatt, Mandy Dickens, Jeff Roper, Chrissy Millwood, Meredith Baker, and Justin Young portray the couples. Chris Morriss and Dani Proctor supply the backstage voices. Tickets for the dinner shows are $25.00 each and must be paid in advance. However, JSU faculty and staff may purchase a maximum of two tickets for each production for $22.00 each if the tickets are for a Thursday performance (no exchanges without a $3.00 per ticket charge). Group rates are available for 24 or more. MasterCard, Visa, and Discover as well as personal checks, money orders, and cash are all accepted. Call 782-5648 to make your reservations. Paid reservations are required; no tickets are available for purchase at the door. The children's show this year is THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA adapted by Eric Traynor. As with all Traynor shows, there is a little twist to the story. Come prepared for a delightful afternoon, July 8-12 and 14-18. All tickets are $5.00. Groups should make paid reservations to assure seating together. Shows will be performed at Leone Cole Auditorium.
