JACKSONVILLE -- July 3, 2002 --
Dr. Patricia Lowry has been named head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at
Jacksonville State University.
Dr. Lowry, who has taught at JSU since 1987, got her BS and master’s in education at Georgia
State University. She received her doctorate at the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Lowry
teaches classes on teaching science, teaching mathematics and reflective teaching practices. She
has been program chair of elementary education since 1997. Dr. Lowry has already started
working in her new position.
