Drama Students Land Summer Jobs with Regional Theater Companies

JACKSONVILLE -- May 29, 2002 -- As summer comes to Jacksonville State University, many of the university’s drama students will be going on the road to work summer student positions with regional theater companies across the country.

  • Sharon McCoy, of Gadsden, will be working for the Tony award winning Utah Shakespeare Festival.

  • Clay Smith, of Oxford, will be working in wardrobe and as a stutter for the Theater of West Virginia.

  • Casey Campbell, of Prattville, will be working as an actor for the Theater of West Virginia.

  • Fabio Pires, of Jacksonville, will be returning to the Virginia Shakespeare Festival as an actor.

  • Jessica Duke, of Glencoe, will be narrating “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” for Theater of West Virginia.

  • Justin Young, of Hokes Bluff, will be an actor in Harrodsburgh, Kentucky.

  • Chris West, of Jacksonville, received an internship in acting at the Dorset Theater in Vermont.

  • Tracey Gamble, of Anniston, will be an actor and technical director at Snow Camp.

  • Jayme Thomas, of Rising Fawn, GA, will be the costume designer at Tecumseh in Ohio.

  • Drew Reeves, of Atlanta, GA, will be an actor in the Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern.

  • Randy Blades, of Alexandria, will be assistant costumer at the Georgia Shakespeare Festival.

  • Casey and Jarrod Simons, of New Market, will be acting in the Kudzu Playhouse in Atlanta.
