JACKSONVILLE -- March 19, 2002 --
The Coosa group of the Sierra Club will have its next meeting on Thursday, April 4th at 7 p.m. in Room 234 of Martin
Hall. The speaker will be Michael Smith, Chairman of the Board of Friends of Terrapin Creek, who will talk about
that group's long and successful struggle against Har-Gal Mining in the Borden Springs community of Cleburne County.
The club is also beginning a membership drive for University faculty, staff, students and local residents who are
interested in joining and helping to make a difference in the environment of Northeast Alabama. Interested individuals
