JSU Jazz Ensemble to Perform March 2


JACKSONVILLE -- February 26, 2002 -- The Jacksonville State University Jazz Ensemble, directed by Brian Bankston, will perform classic big band jazz from 7 to 10 p.m. at The Welch-Coleman Ballroom on Saturday, March 2 on the town square in Talladega.

The concert will feature many of the old standards made famous by Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Glen Miller, Stan Kenton, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington.

Selections will include A String of Pears, In the Mood, Stompin' At The Savoy, April In Paris, Sentimental Journey, Little Brown Jug, Moonlight Serenade and Pennsylvania 6-500.

The JSU Jazz Ensemble is a 19-piece big band that performs on and off campus throughout the year.
