JSU's Spring 2001 |

JACKSONVILLE -- April 19, 2001 --
JSU's commencement will be held at Paul Snow Stadium on Saturday, April
28th at 10:00 a.m. If weather prohibits the outside ceremony, graduation will be moved to Pete Mathews Coliseum. US Senator Jeff Sessions will be the guest speaker and will also receive an Honorary Doctorate to be presented by President Meehan. Senator Sessions has assisted JSU's Environmental Policy and Information Center and is currently working to help JSU in establishing both the Little River Canyon Field School and the Choccolocco Field School. Sessions served as Alabama's Attorney General and as the United States Attorney for the southern District of Alabama. He also serves on major committees such as the Armed Services, Judiciary and Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. The graduation ceremony will be televised live on WJXS-TV 24. |
