Seminar: Bombs & Booby Traps


JACKSONVILLE -- March 9, 2001 -- "Bombs and Booby Traps," a one-day seminar, will be held Saturday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The program is sponsored by Lambda Alpha Epsilon, the Criminal Justice Fraternity.

The course instructor is Mr. Bill Whitley, an Emergency Ordinance Disposal Specialist employed by the US Government at Fort McClellan.

The seminar features both lecture and "hands on" instruction in the identification of varying types of bombs ranging from homemade to commercial dynamite and nitroglycerin. In addition to bomb identification, the student will learn proper search and handling techniques, including what not to do in certain instances.

Students successfully completing the seminar will earn one semester hour of credit.

Regristration: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Brewer Hall, commencing Monday, March 12, 2001. Cost: $35.00 for LAE members; $40.00 for non-members.
