Workshop: Don't Be A Spring Break Statistic |

JACKSONVILLE -- March 8, 2001 --
The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) is hosting a workshop March 13
in Room 302 of the Theron Montgomery Building. The workshop is entitled "Don't Be A Spring
Break Statistic - Information About Drugs Of The New Millenium" and will
begin at 3:00 p.m. Director of Counseling and Career Services, Ricky Naugher, will be presenting the workshop. Ricky will be discussing the new drugs on southeast campuses and their detrimental effects. He will also talk about the difference between marijuana today and 20 years ago. The marijuana today is stronger and Ricky will discuss the neurological effects. Everyone is invited to attend. For more information, contact Ricky Naugher at (256) 782-5475. ACE will also host a "Drunk Lesson" Wednesday, March 21 at Stephenson Gym. Students will have the opportunity to experience the .10 drunk level. Goggles will be provided for students to wear that makes their vision impaired. You will then drive around the parking lot in a golf cart to experience the driving ability of someone under the influence. This event will begin at 1:00 p.m. |
