JACKSONVILLE -- March 1, 2001 -- When is gambling NOT illegal in Alabama?

When it's NOT REALLY gambling, when it's done using play money, and when it's actually a form of donating money to Jacksonville State University's Student Government Association during their annual charitable event called Casino Night.

Participants in Casino Night can try their hand at roulette, black jack, poker, bingo, craps and slot machines. But it's all with play money.

In the past, funds have been used for such good purposes as purchasing computers for the library, televisions for the food court of Theron Montgomery Building (TMB), light posts for the Quad and a variety of other enhancements to the campus.

Casino Night will be held Wednesday, March 7 on the third floor of Theron Montgomery Building (TMB). The public is welcome.
