JACKSONVILLE -- February 20, 2001 -- Jacksonville State University's Gospel Choir has been heard around the world. They have been taped for Black Entertainment Television (BET) at locations in Walt Disney World, Las Vegas, and Nashville. Most recently, they performed at City Stages in Birmingham. The 110-member choir is under the direction of Dr. Myrtice Collins, Assistant Professor of Music at JSU.

On Sunday, February 25 at 6:00 p.m., the Gospel Choir will be featured in Kaleidoscope, "A Festival of the Arts." Kaleidoscope is JSU's annual arts festival that features art, music, drama and other talents.

The choir will sing in Leone Cole Auditorium at JSU. They will perform some of their most requested songs, such as "Healing" and "America."

Rita Allen will also be performing with the Southside Choir and Etowah Live of Rainbow City. Allen is a student of Dr. Collins. But she is now teaching choirs of her own. Allen has combined the talents of these two choirs for the performance at Kaleidoscope.
