JACKSONVILLE -- February 2, 2001 --
JSU's Center for Economic Development & Small Business Development Center and the American Association of Retirement Communities (AARC) are presenting the seminar "Attracting Retirees to Calhoun County" on February 22, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce in Anniston.
The focal point of the seminar is to enhance community growth through retiree attraction. The following topics will be addressed: Retiree Program Overview, Community Assessments, and What YOU Can Do To Attract Retirees. Featured speakers include Pat Shaddix, Director of the JSU Center for Economic Development, and Executive Director, AARC; Dr. Mark Fagan, Acting Department Head - JSU Sociology and Social Work, and Retiree Research Consultant; and Mr. Martin Darity, Chairman of the Board, AARC.
