The Third Annual Atlanta Alumni Golf Tournament Tees Up Friday |

By Christina Morrison JSU News Bureau Jacksonville, AL — May 10, 2000 — The Third Annual Atlanta Alumni Golf Tournament is set for Friday, May 12 at the City Club of Marietta, and some 30 alumni are expected to participate along with several JSU assistant coaches. President Meehan and Tom Sikes, the new Athletic Director for the university, will attend a luncheon with the participants before they begin the competition. There are three main events in the competition: longest drive, closest to pin, and the group competition. Among last year's winners, Phyllis White, the only woman to attend, won the longest drive event. Most of the alumni who will attend this year haven't played in the tournament before. Casey Beatty '95 and Pat White '88, who is also the Atlanta Alumni Chapter President, came up with the idea for the tournament three years ago.
