Eighth Annual Gamecock Gallop
Set for October 25
Plan to walk or run the 8th annual GAMECOCK GALLOP on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. at Pete Mathews Coliseum. The 5K event is the second largest in the area with over 200 participants.
All JSU faculty and staff are encouraged to walk or run the 5K in an effort to make this year's gallop the largest ever!
JSU President Dr. Bill Meehan is the official race starter. He also honors the departments with the greatest number of participants and greatest percentage of participants with a plaque. Congratulations to the Military Science Department and the Library for being unbeaten in each of these categories since the honor was initiated.
All Gamecock Gallop participants are eligible for the numerous prizes that local businesses and JSU departments have donated. Registration forms can be found on the
Wellness Center website.
Get the kids involved too! The 5th annual YOUTH RUN is being held the same day beginning at 9:15. The distances that the kids run are determined by age (walking - up to 6th grade). Every child who places wins a medal. The school with the most participants wins a trophy.
