JSU Storyteller Featured in
Two Regional Magazines This Fall

 

Even as she gears up for fall storytelling events, JSU Little River Canyon Field School Coordinator Renee Morrison is adding a few details to her own story, and to JSU's.

Ms. Morrison, author of Calico Ghosts, is featured in two regional magazines this fall: Longleaf Style and Portico. In the Portico article, she is shown reading her book to participants in JSU's Summer Nature Camp and shares with readers the fine art of fairy house construction.

Below are opportunities for the public to participate in storytelling (and fairy house building) this fall. For more information about any of the events, please contact Morrison at ext. 5697.

Family Weekend DeSoto State Park
JSU Field Schools and DeSoto State Park will offer fun activities October 31-November 1 (Friday night, Saturday and Saturday night) for families who want to learn about nature together. Join JSU Field Schools naturalist and storyteller Renee Morrison (author of Calico Ghosts and Calico Fairies) for fun Campfire Talks on Friday night (Calico Ghosts) and Saturday night (My Life as a Hound Dog). Friday night (Halloween) DeSoto State Park will provide games, goodies and old fashioned fun for kids of all ages. Wear your favorite costume!! Join us for the family storytelling hike on Saturday. International TELLABRATION!!
