"Starting a Small Business"
A Minority Business Development Seminar


 

A small business workshop for the minority community will be presented by the Jacksonville State University Center for Economic Development/Small Business Development Center, the Alabama Small Business Institute of Commerce and The Chamber, Gadsden and Etowah County, on July 22, 2008, at the Chamber, Gadsden/Etowah County, 1 Commerce square, Gadsden AL, from1:00pm to 4:00 pm; registration will begin at 12:30.

 

 Information will be presented on how to start and maintain a small business. The presentation will include various speakers covering basic requirements of a startup business endeavor. Speakers will include: Charles Ball, Executive Director, Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham, Birmingham AL; Kay Moore, Director Downtown Gadsden, Inc. Gadsden AL; Jeff Hooie, Account Executive from the Jacksonville State University Small Business Development Center; and Mike Self, Research Analyst from the Jacksonville State University Center for Economic Development.

 

Anyone seeking help in the area of small business is welcome, but minorities are especially encouraged to attend.

 

There will not be a charge for the seminar; space, however, is limited. Please make reservations today so that seating arrangements and corresponding materials can be prepared. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested in advance.
