Former JSU President Speaks
at Kappa Sigma Dixie Conclave

On April 4, former Jacksonville State University President Dr. Theron Montgomery spoke to the Kappa Sigma Chapters from Alabama and Georgia during the annual "Dixie Conclave" event. More than 150 Kappa Sigmas were in attendance at the event.

Dr. Montgomery, JSU president from 1981-1986, is a notable Kappa Sigma known nationwide. He was initiated into the Kappa Sigma Brotherhood by the Alpha-Nu chapter at Wofford College. He told the men in attendance why he chose Kappa Sigma and shared how being a part of the organization carried him to all of his life's accomplishments. Dr. Montgomery is still very active with Jacksonville State University and the brotherhood.

The event's main focus was a presentation from Greg Hunt on the largest philanthropic event in the Greek community: "Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign." The campaign focuses on providing charitable assistance to the Fisher House Foundation, a segment of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund that provides free housing to wounded veterans and their families throughout the duration of rehabilitation.

In addition to these highlights, each brother present attended seminars on Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship and Service.
