Compassion Blood Drive
for Megan Brittain

There will be a compassion blood drive for Megan Brittain on Friday, May 1 from noon - 5 p.m. at the Kitty Stone Elementary School old gymnasium, 115 College Street, S.W., Jacksonville.

Megan is a sixth grader at Kitty Stone Elementary School and the daughter of JSU Baptist Campus Ministry Director Gary Brittain and the late Sharon Easterwood Brittain. In 2007, Megan was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, which causes tumors to grow in her muscle tissue. She required surgery to remove the tumors, followed by radiation and chemotherapy. In October 2008, scans revealed a new tumor in the same area of her spine as the original tumor. She had surgery earlier this year to remove the tumor and to insert rods to support her spine. Megan continues to undergo treatment and inspire her classmates, friends and family with her bravery.
