Senator Jeff Sessions
On Campus Thursday, April 16

Senator Jeff Sessions will be speaking on Thursday, April 16 at 8 a.m. in Room 101, Merrill Hall. Everyone is welcome.

Jefferson Beauregard III (Jeff) Sessions was born in Hybart, Ala., on December 24, 1946. He attended public schools and graduated from Huntingdon College in Montgomery in 1969. He attended the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa and graduated in 1973. He was admitted to the Alabama bar in 1973 and engaged in the practice of law in Russellville from 1973-1975. He served in the U.S. Army reserves, attaining the rank of captain 1973-1977, and practiced law in Mobile 1977-1981.

Sessions was United States Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama from 1981-1993 and served as Alabama's Attorney General from 1994-1996. Sessions was elected as a Republican to the United States Senate in 1996; reelected in 2002, and again in 2008 for the term ending January 3, 2015.
