Students Represent JSU at Annual
YMCA Collegiate Legislature

Students from Jacksonville State University participated in the 15th Annual YMCA Collegiate Legislature Conference in Montgomery on March 5-7. The participants were afforded the opportunity to participate in mock legislative sessions patterned after the Alabama Legislature. JSU students competed in high spirited debates on bills submitted to the Senate as well as workshops on leadership, lobbying and ethics.

JSU was represented in the following areas:
- Shalon Hathcock, Conference Coordinator 2008-2009
- Moody Duff, III, Speaker of the House
- Michael Finn, House Clerk and Sergeant at Arms
- Sa'de McClaney, Public Relations Coordinator

Andrew Blount was selected JSU outstanding delegate. Timothy Wyatt received the award for outstanding bill in the House Chambers.

JSU will be well represented for the 2009-2010 conference in the following areas:
- Michael Finn, Conference Coordinator 2009-2010
- Timothy Long, Senate Floor Leader
- Jason Sumner, House Sergeant at Arms
- Josh Rush, Senate Chaplain

The highlight of the closing banquet came when Jacksonville State University was awarded the highest honor of receiving the Speaker's Cup.
