JSU IFC Executive Council Attends Southeastern Interfraternity Conference Leadership Academy

The IFC Executive Council attended the Southeastern Interfraternity Conference Leadership Academy in Atlanta, Georgia during February 19-21, 2009. This year's theme was "Building Values in Fraternity Men."

During the conference, each officer participated in the CORE (Council Officer Roundtable Education) curriculum and learned valuable resources and skills needed to enhance their leadership as officers in our fraternal movement. Bryant Whaley was a recipient of the Order of Omega Registration and was recognized at the Affiliated Luncheon on Friday. IFC will receive $175 in Bryant's honor from Order of Omega to use for their programming endeavors.

IFC was also recognized for their generous donation to the official philanthropy project of the conference, the Atlanta Children's Shelter. SEIFC was able to raise $2,000 for the shelter during the conference.

At the closing ceremony, IFC received an award of excellence in Outstanding Educational Program and Risk Management and Judicial Programs. IFC was also awarded the highest honor of the award ceremony, The Fraternal Excellence Award. JSU's own Terry Casey was recognized for his years of service and dedication to the Southeastern Interfraternity Conference.

The following people represented JSU and the fraternity community well: Josh Alexander, IFC Vice President of Recruitment; Terry Casey, Director of Student Life; Randall Dove, IFC PR/Scholarship Chair; Marshonntri Reid, Assistant Director of Student Life - Greek Life; Chris Stokes, IFC Vice President of Risk Management/Judicial; David Williams, IFC Secretary/Treasurer; and Bryant Whaley, IFC President.
