Science and Environment Conference Offers Low-Cost Professional Development Opportunity for JSU Faculty, Staff and Students

Attention JSU Faculty, Staff, and Students: Short on professional development funds? Limiting your travel to local educational opportunities? Looking for something different and "edutaining" to do during this Spring Break?

Join the Environmental Education Association of Alabama for its 21st Annual Science and Environment Conference, "Woods & Water: Connections in Nature," set for March 19 - 21, which will be held at the Alabama 4H Center in Columbiana (southeast of Birmingham, only 75 miles from JSU).

Participants will enjoy learning about the connections between architecture and environmental awareness during a tour of the "state of the art" 4H Center and a program about the new LEED registered JSU Little River Canyon Center. Other sessions include climate change, water science, connecting students to nature and much more! Field trips (transportation provided from conference center) include a trip to the Alabama Water Course, a pontoon boat field trip, and a trip to the marble mines in Sylacauga. Professional Development Scholarships are available to a limited number of participants.

For more information, contact EEAA Region 5 Representative Board Member Renee Morrison at (256) 782-5697 or email fieldschool@jsu.edu.
