Programs, Counseling Planned for
Sexual Responsibility Awareness Week

JSU Peer Educators, Counseling Services, and University Housing and Residence Life will be hosting events on February 10 - 11 for Sexual Responsibility Awareness Week.

On Tuesday, Counseling and Career Services will host an HIV-Ab Counseling and Testing Skills In-Service Session from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Rick Meriwether of the UAB Alabama AIDS Training and Education Center (ATEC) will conduct discussions about OraQuick, Orasure, and other AIDS testing methods. Pre-registration is required. Call 782-5954 to register.

At 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Julie Skinner will present a workshop on Healthy Relationships in Room 303 TMB. Julie writes a weekly column on relationships for The Chanticleer. Join us as Julie and the JSU Peer Educators share their perspective of what is important in making relationships work.

The purpose of Sexual Responsibility Awareness Week is to provide students with the information necessary to make good decisions about their sexual health. JSU Peer Educators and the counseling staff encourage the university community to attend as many events as possible as we promote sexual responsibility during Sexual Responsibility Awareness Week.

More information relating to the issues of sexual health and responsibility is available through the Bacchus Network at smartersex.org.

Counseling and Career Services sponsors a variety of workshops and events designed to assist students in their career, education, and personal development. These programs are provided free of charge to members of the JSU community.
