University Will Host
Alabama Conference for Inventors

Inventors and experts from around the region will be getting together on February 26 at The Alabama Conference for Inventors. The conference will be held at the Jacksonville State University Houston Cole Library in Jacksonville, Alabama. Sponsors for the event are the Jacksonville State University (JSU) Center for Economic Development, the JSU Small Business Development Center, INVENT ALABAMA, and the Alabama Small Business Institute for Commerce.

All inventors or potential inventors are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Conference is aimed at helping eliminate some of the barriers to successful inventing as well as providing inventors with good information for furthering their ideas. A variety of topics will be addressed including product evaluation, Angel Investors and other types of financing, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office updates, internet research, other research options, product liability, and much more. Inventors will have ample opportunity to network with their peers and with speakers. Inventors will also have the chance to talk with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office representative on an individual basis.

John Calvert, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Administrator for the Inventor Assistance Program, is the featured speaker. The Conference will conclude with an open forum for questions and answers with many of the speakers.

The conference fee is $49 per participant and includes lunch, refreshments, and conference materials. The deadline for registration is Friday, February 20.
