Testing Services CLEP Page

General Information

The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests allow you to earn college credit by taking exams instead of taking classes. If your scores are high enough, you can complete your college degree in less time than the traditional college student.

What are the steps required to attempt CLEP exams at JSU?

Step 1:  All JSU Students must complete the Registrar's Office CLEP Request Form before registering to ensure their desired CLEP attempt will count toward their requirements.

Step 2:  Candidates must register through College Board before scheduling an appointment with Testing Services. To register and pay the exam fee to CLEP,  go to: https://clep.collegeboard.org/register-for-an-exam . Please be sure to print a copy of the Registration form with your voucher ID.

Step 3: Contact testingservices@jsu.edu to schedule an appointment once you have completed the CLEP request form and paid for the exam through College Board.

Note: Testing Services charges a proctoring fee to administer CLEP exams. This fee is payable at the time of the appointment. JSU does not accept American Express or cash payments.
