Counselor Education - Master's -In-Person/Hybrid, Ed.S. -Online
The mission of the Counselor Education programs is to train Professional School and Clinical Mental Health Counselors. Students acquire a foundation in the counseling core, and strength in the specialty field courses in program development, consultation and intervention, counseling children and adolescents, individual and group assessment, psychological first aid, crisis counseling, psychopharmacology, addictions, and marriage/couple/family counseling.
Library Media and Technology - Online
The mission of the Library Media Program is to train service-oriented library media specialists that are strong advocates of technology, instructional design, and collaboration, and who exhibit leadership in the instructional program of schools.
The mission of the Instructional Leadership Program Area within the Department of Counseling & Instructional Support of the College of Education and Professional Studies is to recruit and prepare educators for effective practice in the field of educational administration, with special attention to curriculum and instruction. The Teacher Leader program equips experienced classroom teachers to be leaders in literacy, numeracy, curriculum development, and to serve as program chairs/department leaders, curriculum coordinators, etc., in the schools.
Instructional Technology - Online
The Instructional Technology program will equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to guide educational practitioners in the use of emerging technologies to improve teaching and learning. Program participants will develop knowledge and skills in foundations of instructional design, software applications, e-learning modules and course development, and assessment and evaluation techniques.
