Career Development Coordinator

As the Career Development Coordinator for the College of Education and Professional Studies, Becca’s responsibilities include supporting candidates in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) and the College of Education and Professional Studies in professional development for résumé writing, professional dispositions, and interview skills. She will also partner with FCS and all education programs to support placement in practicums and internships. Becca will assist in collecting practicum, internship, and completer data for all accreditations (CAEP, CACREP, ACEND, AAFCS). She will manage the College of Education and Professional Studies Reverse Career Fair and will design a similar opportunity for FCS.

Becca graduated in 1999 from the University of Alabama with a degree in human environmental sciences. She interned and then worked at the HealthSouth corporate office in Birmingham, Alabama for over two and a half years in the marketing and merchandising departments.

After leaving the state of Alabama, Becca moved to North Carolina, where she pursued a career with the largest spectator sport: NASCAR. She worked with Roush Racing for over three years before returning home to Jacksonville, Alabama.

She earned a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in emergency management in 2010 while working as the Cooperative Education Coordinator in Career Services at JSU. Becca served as the Director of Career Services for 10 years and has now found herself back home in JSU’s College of Education and Professional Studies, where she was once a student in FCS. Outside of work, Becca and her fiancé Andy enjoy managing their farm in Clay County, Alabama.
