Counseling and Testing Services CLEP Page

General Information
The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests allow you to earn college credit by taking exams instead of taking classes. If your scores are high enough, you can complete your college degree in less time than the traditional college student.

Counseling and Testing Services administers the CLEP tests for an administrative fee of $35.00 payable by any form of payment. JSU does not take American Express. This is paid the day of testing. Candidates must register through College Board before scheduling an appointment with Testing.

Please Check with the Registrar's Office before registering, to make sure it will fulfill your requirements.

To register and pay the exam fee to CLEP,  go to: https://clep.collegeboard.org/help-center/how-do-i-register-take-clep-exam. Print a copy of the Registration form with your voucher ID and bring it with you to 140 Daugette Hall the day of testing (located on Trustee Circle between the Theron Montgomery Building and Stadium). Please use smaller entrance closer to TMB. All testing dates must be made by appointment. For further information regarding registration, call (256) 782-5475.

You should contact the Registrar's Office at (256) 782-5400 to determine what classes you can potentially CLEP at JSU. Counseling Services does not make policies regarding acceptance of CLEP scores at JSU.
