Business (ACC, EC, FIN, MGT, MKT) and Communication majors (all concentrations): Contact the Advising Center, Room 110, two semesters prior to planned graduation term (Information on audits is shown on Advisement & Registration page). Review on MyJSU the unofficial transcript and degree evaluation prior to the scheduled graduation audit. Note any inconsistencies to discuss during the audit.
CBI majors must complete three exams prior to graduation:
(1) ECE - English Competency Exam. Eligibility requires 60 earned semester hours and completion of EH 101 and 102 with minimum grade of C in each course. Graduation will not occur in same semester of first attempt of ECE. Plan ahead!! The ECE should be completed prior to the audit.
If you have to remediate the ECE, know the test dates AND have remediation completed prior to the test date. If you do not remediate, you will not be eligible to retake the ECE.
(2) EEP - ETS Proficiency Profile. Eligibility requires 90 earned semester hours. EPP - not the same as CBI Business Test - registration and dates may be found on the Testing Services website. Any student who does not register and take the EPP during the scheduled testing period must schedule a make-up test date and will incur a $50 late registration fee. The EPP is a University requirement for graduation.
(3) Major Field Exam - administered in graduating semester and in accordance with accreditation standards. Registration information and dates for the exams will be announced by each department and distributed to students who have followed application instructions.
Caps and gowns are also available at the JSU Bookstore. Price is approximately $43. Information about class rings and graduation announcements will be available at the Graduation Fair. Dates will be announced to on the Registrar's office graduation web page.
Late applications are not accepted for current term when submitted after deadline. Once you have completed an audit and application, please contact your certification advisor if there are any changes in your graduation plans.
