JSU Primary Prevention Module
Prevention Against Sexual Assault, Dating And Domestic Violence, and Stalking
- Three online modules to be completed at individual pace by end of semester
- Students will gain skills to Be The Friend by understanding how to:
- Recognize the dynamics of interpersonal violence
- Know how to get help and support for your friends
- Be and active bystander and a change maker on campus!
Mandatory for all incoming Freshman, Graduate and Transfer Students
- New students will complete all three modules within their first semester
- Students are encouraged to complete modules in first 8 weeks, this is when your friends are most at-risk
- Students who do not complete the modules by the end of the semester will be blocked from viewing final grades
- The entire JSU community can take the module voluntarily and give feedback
To Create a Culture Of Respect
- Give students the tools to recognize and safely intervene when they witness violence
- Eliminate sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking from our community
- Fundamental education to be followed up with voluntary activities throughout the year such as training, workshops, events, and media campaigns
- Mandatory primary prevention module is a grant requirement for the Office on Violence against Women Campus Program Grant

- Located in STU 101 curriculum as Bonus Module (extra points when completed as part of STU 101)
- Optional- a supportive environment is available to take the module with a counselor present
- Tuesday 09/28 2-4 pm
- Wednesday 10/0610 am-12 pm
- Tuesday 10/2610 am-12 pm
- Wednesday 11/10 3-5 pm
- The location is the Multipurpose Room on the ground level of the Houston Cole Library.
