Steps to Apply

Applying for admission to Jacksonville State University is as easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Complete the application for admission.
  2. Submit the $35 (USD) non-refundable application fee.
  3. Submit all required documents.

We strongly encourage you to apply six to nine months prior to the expected date of enrollment.

It is your responsibility to see that your high school or college transcript and ACT/SAT scores are submitted. These documents must be mailed to JSU directly from the high school, college, or testing agency. Decisions regarding admissibility to the University will be made as soon as all necessary credentials are received in the Office of Admissions.

Unconditional Admission *
  • ACT 20 and above (Composite) or
  • SAT 950 and above (Combined Critical Reading and Math)
Conditional Admission *
  • ACT 17 - 19 (Composite) or
  • SAT 830 - 940 (Combined Critical Reading and Math)

Admissions Requirements Effective Fall 2015

Unconditional Admission *
  • ACT 20 and above (Composite) or
  • SAT 950 and above (Combined Critical Reading and Math)
  • High School Grade-Point Average 2.00 on 4.00 scale**
Conditional Admission *
  • ACT 18 - 19 (Composite) or
  • SAT 870 - 940 (Combined Critical Reading and Math)
  • High School Grade-Point Average 2.00 on 4.00 scale**

* Students who have not attended secondary school in 8 or more years, or are 25 years of age are exempt from this test score requirement.

**GPA will be taken from the final high school transcript provided to the Admissions Office after graduation. Students will be provisionally admitted until the final high school transcript has been received by the Admissions Office. Once the final transcript has been received, the GPA will be calculated and must meet the required minimum for admission. In lieu of the high school transcript, successful completion of the GED is acceptable.
