JSU Freshman Forum hosted One Day without Shoes on Wednesday, April 15, 2015!
In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. During the event, participants experienced what it is like for people go go without shoes on a daily basis by.
Freshman Forum raised $500 during the event that was donated to AmeriCares, a giving partner of the TOMS One-for-One initiative. We would like to thank everyone that participated to make the day a success!
