Attending Graduation

What holds will need to be cleared before I graduate?
Do I have to attend rehearsal?
What if I have concerns about how my name will be pronounced?
Where do I get invitations, rings, cap, gown, DVD of the ceremony, and plaque?
Will the ceremony be viewable on television or on computer?
Is there anything I should tell my guests?
Will there be accessible parking available?
When will diplomas be mailed?

Students will be given a frame-quality print of Bibb Graves Hall in a JSU decorative tube during the ceremony. Official diplomas will be mailed within 10 days following graduation. The 8” x 10” print of Bibb Graves Hall will be the same size as the new diploma and the two pieces will pair together nicely for framing.  If you filled out the paper Application for Degree, or if you have had an address change since filling out the online Application for Degree, please submit the Diploma Mailing Address form by November 20, 2015 to provide the adress where your diploma is to be mailed.

All college financial obligations including degree fee ($20.00), library account, and traffic fines should be cleared prior to graduation.  Those having National Defense Loans or National Direct Loans must see the Financial Aid Officer in the Financial Aid Office for an exit interview to make arrangements for repaying.  Those having Logan-Walker loans must see the Loan Collection Officer in the Bursar’s Office for an exit interview to make arrangements for loan repayment.

Guest Information
JSU welcomes your family and friends to the commencement ceremony.  Ample seating is available at JSU Stadium.  To ensure that all graduates, the last to cross the stage as well as the first, are appropriately recognized, guests are asked to remain seated throughout the ceremony.  So that graduates and members of the audience may clearly view the proceedings, we ask that close up photographs and taping be delayed until after the ceremony.

Accessible Parking/Seating
Accessible parking is available in the parking lots on the north and south sides of the building. Accessible restrooms are located on the second floor (main floor). Accessible seating is available at each corner of the arena. Captioning Services for deaf and hard of hearing individuals will also be available. ASL interpreting will be provided on stage.
