Thomas Dedrick

Vice Chairman

Thomas Dedrick Sr.Thomas Dedrick has more than 30 years of experience providing financial and wealth management advice and services. A graduate of Morris Brown College, Dedrick joined Merrill Lynch in 1982. He is a CFP Certificant, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., a Certified Financial Manager and a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association. He is also a National Football League Players Association Registered Player Financial Advisor. He works with non-profit organizations and assists high net worth individuals, professional athletes, and business owners by providing investment management consulting, retirement and financial planning services.  

Dedrick is a 1997 graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa. In addition to his service on the JSU Board of Trustees, Dedrick is vice chairman of the board for the Tuscaloosa Parking and Transit Authority, and is a member of the selection committee for the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. His past service includes The Red Cross, Girl Scouts, Theatre Tuscaloosa and The United Way.  He also served for three years on Merrill Lynch’s National Advisory Council to Management for diversity.  He has been active with youth athletics as a baseball and basketball coach and as a member of the Barnes YMCA Men’s Club.

Dedrick and his wife Angelita have two sons, ages 21 and 23.
