Lactation Rooms

There are several permanent lactation rooms available around campus, JSU is committed to making sure that lactation areas are available wherever they are needed.  However, if you need a lactation area in an area where one is not currently located, contact Jennifer Argo at (256) 782-5769 or and she will make arrangements for an area to be made available.

  1. School of Business and Industry Complex:  to access to this lactation area stop by Dean McClung’s office and request a key from Jacqui Callender and/or Tawana Roberts.  This area is equipped with:
    • refrigerator
    • sink
    • desk
    • chair
    • privacy
    • cabinet for storing pumping equipment
    • wall heater/air conditioning unit for individualized temperature preference
  2. Houston Cole Library:  this lactation area is located on the 5th floor near the Children’s Corner. This area is equipped with:
    • rocking chair
    • bookshelf
    • children’s books
    • privacy

Maternity Needs

The JSU Gamecock Market (located in the Basement of Sparkman Hall) has resources for our students who are pregnant or parenting young children.  Please stop by the Gamecock Market during hours of operation (Monday-Friday, 11 - 4 pm) to pick up what you may need. 

If you have cannot stop by during hours of operation, or just have questions, please email  We have the usually have the following items in stock:
