Currently, I offer courses in Human Geography, World Regional Geography, Political Geography, Economic Geography, and Map Reading.  In the future, I anticipate teaching Sports Geography, advanced regional courses on Asia and Europe, and specialty course in geography and popular media.

My research interest focuses on cultural geography.  I recently presented research on music geography (the Wu-Tang Clan and the creation of hip-hop space in Staten Island), sports geography (Jeremy Lin and the place of Asian-American athletes in sports), religious geography (geography of religious freedom), and political geography (electoral geography of Taiwanese presidential elections).  I am currently working on manuscripts involving ghost stories and haunted places in Alabama, the changing location of Auburn football games, and public memory and the cultural landscape in Taiwan.  In other words, my research interests is quite varied.  Generally speaking, I focus on cultural landscape and identity.  In terms of regions, I am mostly interested in East Asia -- namely Japan and Taiwan, as well as the U.S. South.
